The striking thing about it is that it originates in a cellar of a farm. After about 20 km it flows into the Netherlands and after a 56 km stretch in the village of Voulwames near Maastricht it flows into the Maas.
In Belgium it is called Geul or French. Gueule and in the Netherlands Geul.
