The Wekeromse Zand is not only beautiful, it is also unique, because it is one of the few places where actively drifting sand still occurs. 🇳🇱The Het Wekeromse Zand nature reserve is a 500 hectare nature reserve in the southwest of the small town of Wekerom🧭.
The area consists of forests, heathland, farmland and inland dunes with drifting sand.
The inland dunes are unique because active inland dunes are almost non-existent in northwestern Europe.
