It is a natural lake of around 35 hectares divided into two parts with a famous resident. This is where Maya the Bee lives with all her friends. Waldemar Bonsels, author of the story "Maya the Bee and her Adventures", spent a large part of his childhood at Bredenbeker Teich and was inspired to write his book by the many frogs, grasshoppers, spiders and of course bees.The lake is ideal for swimming due to its excellent water quality.
