The Roman Museum in the Innstadt district of Passau was built in the late Middle Ages on the foundations of the late Roman fort Boiotro. If that wasn't a special feature in itself, the connection between the excavation site and the museum's rooms also gives visitors a remarkable insight into archaeological practice. In any case, you should also take a short detour across the street behind the old city wall and thus take a step back in time to the Middle Ages.
