Haughmond Hill is a popular nature spot in Shropshire. Its wooded slopes provide the perfect trails for mountain biking and hiking.
Although the hill is now a peaceful retreat where wildlife thrives, it played an important role in history in times gone by. It is thought that Henry IV's wife watched the Battle of Shrewsbury from here in 1403. The hill also inspired "Bosky Hill" in Shakespeare's play Henry IV Part 1. A lot of history for a small hill which stands at just 502 feet (153 m).
