After the storm in 2006, the forest section between the Wynigenbrücke and Waldeggbrücke was closed to the passageway due to the risk of slipping and falling rocks.
The renewed landslide in the summer of 2021 on the first Gisnauflue has increased the risk of falling rocks again.
The danger has also been exacerbated by falling trees and parts of the crowns of the numerous ash trees, which are affected by the rampant fungal disease "ash wilt". The forest between the Wynigen and Waldegg bridges is part of the Gisnauflüe natural forest reserve and is left to develop naturally for reasons of nature conservationtranslated by
