The Rheinbrücke Wintersdorf is a former railway bridge used by road traffic, which spans the Rhine between the Rastatt district of Wintersdorf and Beinheim and the border between Germany and France.

The building is located at the Rhine kilometer 335.7 and transferred with two lanes the country road 78b and the departmental road 87th Until 1999, it was also part of the railway line Rastatt-Rœschwoog.

The bridge is located on Iffezheimer district, but is named after the nearby village Wintersdorf. In France, it is called "Pont de Beinheim".

Südwestrundfunk repeatedly uses the Rheinbrücke Wintersdorf as a filming location for television films. Due to the proximity to the production location Baden-Baden and the relatively low traffic density, the bridge serves as backdrop for crime scene productions with the Ludwigshafen commissars Odenthal and Kopper (Ulrike Folkerts and Andreas Hoppe) instead of the busy bridges between Ludwigshafen and Mannheim. Particularly detailed was the bridge over the Rhine Wintersdorf in the scene-consequences scrap and manslaughter and Kopper to see.

The not so frequent transitions are widened by the old railway bridge wonderful. Attention the tracks are only over-paved so that there are still ruts.

A bridge with a long and moving history. Built in 1895 as Roppenheimer Brück. Repeatedly blown up and rebuilt. 1947, the French part was rebuilt, the German part later renewed again. Especially the French part is a nice relic from old times. This bridge impresses me again and again.

The Pamina Cycle Path is worth seeing on both sides of the Rhine. Depending on the wind direction, it is recommended to drive to Karlsruhe from the Baden-Baden train station to the Albtalbahnhof in Karlsruhe, then through the Günter-Klotz-Anlage to the Rhine and then back by bike.
The Aalschkker "Heini" is undoubtedly the highlight of the route.

Good transition to France because not quite as frequented as the barrage. From here it is fast times to Seltz (for shopping ;-)) or in the other direction to Drusenheim on the ferry. Unfortunately not like now in winter. In summer, this is the top.

The Rhine Cycle Path does not take long here. This runs a little further east on the dam.

The route over the old railway bridge is only for cars. 500 m before the track is prohibited for the bike. I then continued on the German side until the next ferry, which was then even free.
In addition, leads on the French side of this route in a dead end, but you can easily avoid.

You should quickly drive over the bridge ... there are many cars on the way. On the bridge you can see exactly where the state border is.
