Very scenic. Almost nothing going on during the week. But be careful: the last part of the route, i.e. the descent to the stream, goes right through the bushes and nettles. You should be able to walk well and have sturdy shoes at the start.

The Buchberger Leite - Wildbachklamm is a wonderful place for hiking - a great nature experience. The adventure hiking trail through the Buchberger Leite leads you past the Saußbach, on to the Reschenbach valley and through romantic gorges. Here you can enjoy the flair of the most beautiful geotopes in Bavaria. The path continues past the Wolfsteiner Ohe and to the disused BuchbergmĂŒhle.
Length and walking time: approx. 12 kilometers, 2 - 3 hours
Signs: A red three or a silver thistle.

Not far from the town of Waldkirchen in the district of Freyung-Grafenau is the unique Bavarian Forest nature reserve Saußbachklamm with a unique flora and fauna all around. A beautiful hiking trail, which is also quite interesting for children, leads through the 1 km long, deeply cut gorge. The water rushes over huge granite boulders that remained in the stream bed.

Hiking trail tip: Path no. 1 Saußbachklamm, a 6 km long, easy circular path with
Starting point at Ringmauerstraße 14, 94065 Waldkirchen
