The survey with the idiosyncratic name is actually the highest point in Cologne's urban area. Everyone in Cologne should have climbed it once in their life. This is even possible without an oxygen device. The 118 meter high "mountain" is located in the Königsforst. The Cologne Alpine Club has erected an impressive summit stone up here. There is even a summit book. The name is made up of the surnames of the three “discoverers”.

The Monte Troodelöh is 118.04 meters above sea level. NHN the highest elevation of the city Cologne. It is located in the district Rath / Heumar about 1250 meters as the crow flies south of the A 4 at the Wolfsweg between the junction Pioneer-Hütten-Weg and the junction with the Brück-Forsbacher Weg. The Monte Troodelöh is located on a rising slope in the Königsforst. Above (east) of the Wolfsweg the terrain rises to about 130 meters further, this mountain peak has no name. It belongs to the district Bensberg the city Bergisch Gladbach, since the Wolfsweg is at this point the border to the Cologne city area.
Until 1999, the point was largely unknown. At this time, the highest point of Cologne was 116.7 m above sea level. NHN indicated. On November 12th of this year, a small group of city officials hiked this place and set a provisional summit cross. After the municipal office for real estate, surveying and cadastre had re-measured the area in 2000, the height was corrected to 118.04 m above sea level. NHN.
In 2001, under the auspices of the Rhineland-Cologne section of the German Alpine Club, a new summit cross with a bronze plaque was installed, on which the actual height was noted. The cross was replaced shortly afterwards by the forestry administration by a boulder, which now carries the blackboard. In the same year the point got its name after a competition in the urban staff newspaper, after the surnames of the three "discoverers" Troost, Dedden and Löhmer. The BBBank donated a rest bench for hikers. A summit book was attached, which was, however, repeatedly stolen or destroyed by vandalism.
The Monte Troodelöh is now part of numerous route suggestions in the local hiking and Cologne literature and is considered a landmark, although he has neither view nor gastronomic infrastructure to offer. He is included in the circular path Cologne path of the Cologne Eifelvereins.
