The Samphire Hoe is a beautiful nature reserve close to the White Cliffs of Dover which has an interesting past. 4.9 million cubic metres of chalk marl from the Channel Tunnel excavations were used to create the park.

Queen Elizabeth II opened the park to the public in 1997. These days, it attracts over 100,000 visitors every year who come for its walking, cycling, bird watching and fishing opportunities.

The park is open from 7am to dusk daily and entrance is free.
