Fiume Mincio

The Mincio starts at Peschiera del Garda as a drain of Lake Garda.
Following the cycle path downstream, after about 15 kilometers you will reach Borghetto, which is rightly considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

The Mincio river from its exit from Lake Garda to Mantua can be skirted on the beautiful cycle path up to Pozzolo sul Mincio.
The cycle continues then following a canal and abandoning the Mincio (something that many ignore) while the Mincio river deviates towards Goito and subsequently to Rivalta, where then opening and widening it arrives in Mantua forming the first of the 3 lakes, Lake Superior.

I started in Peschiera del Garda and followed the river to Borghetto, one of the most stunning villages in Italy. After about 15 km on quiet roads and past idyllic landscapes, I reached my destination and was enchanted by its beauty.I continued along the Mincio to Mantua, on a magnificent bike path that took me on a journey through a beautiful landscape. Here I left the course of the river because there the Mincio branches off towards Goito and later widens in Rivalta where it forms the Superior Lake in Mantua.A tip for everyone who wants to do this unforgettable tour: don't forget to take bug spray with you.
