Lausanne is a city on Lake Geneva in the French-speaking canton of Vaud in Switzerland. The city is home to the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee as well as the Olympic Museum and Olympic Park on the shores of the lake. Off the lake is the hilly old town with its medieval streets full of small shops and a Gothic cathedral with an ornate facade from the 12th century. The 19th century Palais de Rumine houses art and science museums.
