The Paul Gerhardt Church is a Protestant church. It is named after the theologian and songwriter Paul Gerhardt, who served as archdeacon here from 1669 to 1676. Guided tower ascents take place Monday & Thursday from 10:00 a.m. On Friday, market day, there is an organ concert at 12:00 p.m.

The church has stood on the market since the mid-16th century. In 1931 the town church of St. Nikolai was renamed Paul-Gerhardt-Kirche.
