Lake Tekapo is our first stop in New Zealand and it's a dream come true. From our accommodation, we went past a dreamy little church over the 125 meter long pedestrian bridge to the ascent to the Mt John Observatory. At the beginning we went along the lake on the way up, with a bright blue sky and only 10 degrees outside temperature, the sun gave everything and it felt like 36 degrees. Don't forget sunscreen and enough drinking water at this point.
In the Astra Cafe you can stop off comfortably, eat and drink. The coffee is great!
