Sommerhausen is a small town on the right bank of the Main about 15 kilometers south of Würzburg. The place has long been a symbol of Franconian romanticism and Franconian wine. Basically, the old town of Sommerhausen has not changed over the centuries. The town hall of the city dates from the 16th century. The winery Schloss Sommerhausen in the main street and the gate tower theater, which is housed in the old gate tower of the city fortification, are worth seeing. A very well-known wine from Sommerhausen bears the interesting name "Sommerhäuser Ölspiel".
