The state-recognized resort of Hirschberg is picturesquely embedded in the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, the largest contiguous forest area in North Rhine-Westphalia. Hirschberg, the former hunting seat of the Cologne electors, is 450 m above sea level.
The townscape is characterized by numerous listed half-timbered houses. With its location directly on the Sauerland Forest Route, the place not only invites hikers to linger and take a look at the numerous sights.

Hirschberg is a charming little place high up on a mountain, characterized by well-kept half-timbered houses and the church of St. Christophorus. The center around the sacred building is worth seeing and inviting for a break from the hike or bike tour. :-)
