Hermann Löns (born August 29, 1866 in Culm, West Prussia, † September 26, 1914 at Loivre near Reims, France) was a German journalist and writer. Already during his lifetime Löns, whose ideal landscape was the heather, became known as a hunter, poet of nature and homeland, as well as a natural scientist and protector of myth and as a "heath poet".
