    Dreiländereck in the Röglinger Tal

A stele as a symbol for the community in the "Dreiländereck" - it symbolizes the connections between Swabia, Upper Bavaria and Franconia. Six municipalities from the three administrative districts work together here. A board on the stele provides information about the three-country triangle. A bank invites you to linger.

The idyllic hard forest clearing of the Röglinger valley has formed a sensitive borderline for centuries, especially in political and ecclesiastical terms. In times of intermunicipal cooperation and ecumenical endeavors, of course, the situation has long since eased.

After a four-meter-high oak floor cross had been erected on a small hill at the suggestion of a pastor in 1989, more and more team spirit also stirred at the political level. Thus, in 2008 six municipalities joined the Local Action Group (LAG) Monheimer Alb / Altmühljura. As a sign of the community spirit, the erection of a stele in the triangle was planned.

It was finally designed and implemented by Rupert Fieger. The Eichstatt artist and stonemason has a trio of curved limestone lines flowing together in his stele - representing the three tribes of Bavaria, Franconia and Swabia. Half of the money for the work of art comes from an EU grant and the other half from the six participating municipalities.

The inauguration took place on July 14, 2013 with a service in the presence of 600 guests from the participating communities and their mayors.

Several benches and a small rest area invite you to linger.

One could also call it a place of power.
