The most beautiful destination on the Samobor Highlands. Only maybe Japetic can be compared to Sharp. If you love nature you should not miss the Sharpener. The mountain lodge should be renovated. Great view of the city of Zagreb and Medvednica.

The Željezničar mountain lodge on Oštrc is located on the northern side of the Oštrc peak (752 m) in the Samobor hills, on a 691 m above sea level saddle. Andrija Štampar «. During

During the Second World War, the home was severely damaged, but as early as 1946, thanks to the Lokomotiva Sports Association, ie their mountaineering section, its restoration began.

The home was renovated until 1948. From 1950 until today, it has been managed by HPD "Željezničar". In 1957 the home was extended, and in 1958 it was electrified. The home was renovated on four more occasions: 1967, 1972 and 1996 and 2008. After the last renovation in 2008, the renovated home was ceremoniously opened by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Stjepan Mesić.
The road to the home was broken in 1993. The original name of the lodge was the Mountain Lodge "Janko Gredelj". Today's name "Željezničar" was given to the home in 1991. In 2007, the Executive Board of the Croatian Mountaineering Association named HPD "Željezničar" the best manager of mountaineering facilities in Croatia. HPS declared our home "Željezničar" in Oštrc the best mountain lodge.

The home has electricity and water, and is heated by wood. On the ground floor there is a nicely decorated dining room for 50 guests, a kitchen and a supplier's room, and on the first floor there is a nicely decorated dormitory with a total of 26 beds. On the lowest floor is a bathroom and a smaller dormitory with 12 beds.

The lodge is regularly open on weekends throughout the year, and is a popular meeting place for mountaineers from Zagreb, Samobor and all parts of Croatia. A dozen hiking trails of various weights and lengths lead to the lodge, and there are several attractions in the vicinity of the lodge:

Oštrc peak, Ptičji vrh, Flinka rock, stone monolith Gljiva and beautiful meadows and forests. From the home there are beautiful views of Lipovečka draga and Rudarska draga, and in the distance on beautiful days you can see especially nice Zagreb with Medvednica.
