In 1959 the film director and actor Bernhard Wicki was looking for a suitable bridge for his anti-war film "The Bridge". After a long search, the Florian Geyer Bridge in Cham was the best possible location. This film became an international success. For the filming, the ford on the opposite bank was raised so that its origin is no longer recognizable to this day.
