Location: Angera, Varese, Lombardy, Italy
The Bruschera Oasis, a protected area of 400 hectares on Lake Maggiore, opposite Angera, was established in July 1998 by the Lombardy Region and managed by the Municipality of Angera in collaboration with the Province of Varese. This place represents one of the last examples of flooded forest in Lombardy. The dirt paths are surrounded by black alders, white willows and reeds, while the flora includes rare species such as marsh violets and white water lilies. The route is well signposted with explanatory signs and wooden bridges cross the canals, offering a panoramic view of the lake and the Angera fortress.
