If you enter the hike via Las Horquetas or Estera Parada you pay 29000 CLP (because of private property, cash needed, dollar possible), but if you leave /enter the hike from/to Laguna Cerro Castillo it's 5000CLP extra as it's another private property.

Getting There
The tourist information office in town is sometimes open, but don’t rely on it. From there, you can take a bus to the starting point of the hike (Las Horquetas) for 6,000 CLP or to Coyhaique for 8,000 CLP. The bus is scheduled to arrive at 7:30 AM, but it often comes later (around 8:15 AM) because it picks up passengers all over town. It's best to book the bus the day before via WhatsApp: +56 9 8747 2174.
Alternatively, hitchhiking to the start of the hike is also a great option and widely used by hikers.
