The Duomo stands on a hill above the port of Ancona, known as the Guasco hill. if you are waiting for the ferry or visiting the city don't miss the beautiful church. by bike, from under the port, it will take just over 10 minutes to get there. The view you will have from up here, of the small gulf and of the port, is certainly worth the effort you will make on the ramps of the little climb, not very simple. Do not forget, however, the climb, measures just over 1km. The cathedral of Ancona is dedicated to San Ciriaco and is the metropolitan cathedral of the archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo. It is a medieval church in Romanesque style that merges with the Byzantine one. On 30 May 1999 the millennial of the dedication of the cathedral was celebrated, with a visit to the Doric capital of Pope John Paul II who celebrated mass there
