Cold Creek trail becomes very steep below this junction, while High Meadows Rd is a little more gradual. Going uphill, the trail along High Meadows Rd changes name to Mott Canyon 'jeep road' and becomes much steeper above this point than the Monument Pass Trail turning east a few yards ahead.
