Obertiefenbach

was probably only founded during the second Franconian wave of settlements. Oberntief was first mentioned in 1226. The name Tief can be traced back to the sex of those from Tief. A water castle near the current village pond was destroyed by the Windsheimers, completely demolished in 1447 and the entire town was sold to Windsheim. After this time, the history of the place is closely linked to the Free Imperial City. The father of the famous carver Georg Brenck 1590-1635 had moved from Oberntief to Windsheim. In 1621 and 1631 there are entries according to which soldiers received money that was quartered to protect the village.
