The warm Bode rises in the groundbreak in the national park area east of Oderbrück, about one kilometer from the source of the cold Bode away at an altitude of about 840 meters above the sea. The still narrow mountain stream initially carries the important sounding name "Große Bode", overcomes the Upper Bodewasserfall and flows shortly afterwards together with the "Kleine Bode". A few hundred meters downstream, the waters of the Warm Bode plunge down the lower Bodewasserfall. It now reaches Braunlage, crosses this city and then the two places worry and fir. Subsequently, the Warm Bode turns towards the northeast and approaches Königshütte. In this place it joins after a distance of about 23 kilometers with the two degrees colder "cold Bode" to the "Bode".

The visit to the falls can be combined very well with a Wurmberg hike.
