The noble house from 1580 and older, in the old stately district of Öhringen and close to the city wall along Haagweg and the demolished castle-like complex of the city lords. Today the district building fund stands.
The Yellow Castle stands out from the town houses with its befitting turret, half-timbering, gables, bay windows and coat of arms with the Latin inscription. The castle was temporarily inhabited by noble families who were in the service of the Prince of Hohenlohe. Many decades later, the oldest wine shop in Germany and the best wines of the Mürdter family were established here.
