    Borowo power plant

The hydroelectric power plant in Borów (formerly Stary Potok and formerly Alt Springe) was commissioned on January 27, 1918.

By using the Drawa catchment area, which is over 1,000 km2, an average difference of water levels of 8.6 m was obtained. This made it possible to install two 550 kW turbines each. The hydro-energy complex of this historic building today consists of two twin Francis turbines, driven by horizontal shafts manufactured by J.M. Voith from Heideheim. They work with generators from Siemens - Schuckert. These original generating sets, almost aged, are still in use today.

A lot of facts about the construction of this power plant can be found in the dedicated article ("Hydroelectric Power Plant in Borów"), an online guide around Kalisz Pomorski, which is available on the local Liceum portal (tab Our surroundings): liceum.kalisz.pl
