For the eleven families who built a new housing estate at Vorwerk Heßwinkel from 1945, the new home quickly became a nightmare. The remote location, lack of work opportunities and poor family care led to the abandonment of this small settlement in 1976, which at times had 50 residents. Today there is a notice board at the place of the desert and parts of the Behringer sculpture hiking trail.
