The Heidenberg is part of the Middle Franconian Stepped Land. It consists of the layers of the Upper and Middle Burgsandstein, a formation of the Middle Keuper from the Triassic period. On the Heidenberg there is the legend hiking trail with more than 22 stations, equipped with text and picture panels. The starting points of the 14-kilometer-long route are in both Kühedorf and Kammerstein.[6] According to a legend, the Hun king Attila is buried on the Heidenberg. (Legend station 19) The legend festival is celebrated every year on the first weekend in May in a clearing in the forest, the Ofenplatte. Source: Wikipedia
