Bike Touring Highlight
Very nice tour also for Fahrradmuffel. In the high season, however, sometimes a bit exhausting because the path is both bike path and trail. For older people with heavy e-bikes and cyclists who are well packed, it could be a challenge on some bridges. Those who choose the Pohlenzschänke for lunch will find a secluded garden, but no restaurant with a large menu. We had to choose from pork goulash with boiled potatoes, Bockwurst with bread or potato soup, potatoes with quark and cold cucumber soup. Everything in the holding container (except the cucumber soup :)) what we ate was tasteful for us ok.

Here are two fairly steep bridges (benches) that are difficult to negotiate on their own and with a heavy e-bike - but with a light bike.

Attention, the connection Lübbenau Lehde is only open on weekends until September 30, 2020, during the week the route is currently closed due to new construction

Beautiful Spreewald village with many opportunities to take a break and try typical Spreewald dishes
May 24, 2020
You can also reach Lehde without having to carry the bikes over the bridges. It goes from Lübbenau.
May 25, 2020
This one bridge is still standing and cannot be crossed for 50kg bikes (loaded e-bike). Leave your bike behind and walk. The cycle path to Leipe has been redone and all bridges are passable

If you have the time, you can park your bike and rent a boat. Outside the lively center of Lehde, you can paddle through the relaxing nature of the Spreewald and dream away from everyday life.
Blue banded dragonflies buzz through the flora of the shore and over blooming water lilies. Here and there a frog croaks, a bird trills and sometimes, if you're lucky, you see Mr. or Mrs. Nutria ..
Thank you, devil, that you created the wonderful Spreewald with your plow 😉!

You don't need to say much about the Spreewalddorf. The bikes can be pushed comfortably over the many bridges.

The museum village of Lehde is always worth seeing. However, it is advisable to go to Lübbenau on foot or by bike. There is a lot going on on the rivers during peak times ("risk of congestion" on the water)
June 20, 2021
It is an overcrowded typical Spreewald town, but you can take a break and strengthen yourself.
Crossing the bridges with full luggage for several days requires a bit of strength and, as they are steep, a bit of skill downhill.

This path leads from Lehde to Leipe. It is the only bridge to cross. However, until September 30, 2020, the trail is closed from Monday to Friday due to renewal. Passable at the weekend, but you can still look forward to the completion.

The Spreewald is an absolute must. And in any case, please take a boat trip
September 13, 2020
Here is a bustle. Barges, padel boats, cyclists and walkers meet in this place.
October 16, 2017
The museum village Lehde is located east of the Lübbenauer harbor. There are several gastronomic options to rest here. On some boat trips from Lübbenau one passes Lehde and can observe the drifting from the water.

In the oldest open-air museum in Brandenburg, the Freilandmuseum Lehde, you can see life in the Spreewald more than 100 years ago in 4 original farms that were rebuilt from time to time in different regions of the Spreewald. Joining stations, such as walking in wooden clogs or washing clothes on a washboard, make your stay more enjoyable for children.
