On Brestenegg, as is typical in the Emmental, there is a linden tree on the striking hill. The reason why there are linden trees on such heights is not fully understood. It is believed that this tradition goes back to the Alemanni, who planted linden trees instead of summit crosses. The tradition has been preserved until today. Variously, these heights are also called power places today. For me, they are simply beautiful to look at. There is also a restaurant on an old farmhouse on Brestenegg.
