here at the bridges of the Schmutter-Altwasser and the Schmutter it is romantic. and the old mill, which still stands here as it did at least 60 years ago, does the rest. Incidentally, it was always the mill by and for Täfertingen, although the mill belongs politically to Edenbergen and thus to Gersthofen. Enjoy the view of the damp meadows.

The Gailenbacher Mill is a historic mill in Bavarian Swabia, located between the districts of Täfertingen and Hirblingen in the town of Gersthofen. It originally served as a grain mill and is now an important cultural monument in the region.History:
The mill was first mentioned in documents in 1296. Over the centuries it changed hands several times and was continuously modernized. In March 1933 a fire broke out in the mill's outbuildings; parts of the property were saved, but the coach house and the barn were completely destroyed and the stable partially destroyed. In recent decades the mill has repeatedly been the scene of severe flooding, but various construction measures have significantly improved flood protection in recent years. The mill is no longer in operation and the buildings have been rented out to several businesses.Current use:
Today, the Gailenbacher Mill houses the GrandeVia store, which offers decorative items for the home and garden in an exhibition and sales area of over 1,000 square meters. The historic ambience of the mill gives the shopping experience a special charm.A visit to the Gailenbacher Mill offers a successful combination of historic flair, shopping experience and enjoyment of nature.
