    Hiking

    Lava Point Campground is typically open May through September, depending on the weather. It is situated at 7,890 feet above sea level. It takes approximately one hour and 20 minutes to get to the campground by car from the South Entrance of Zion Canyon.

    You will find six primitive campsites available by reservations: nps.gov/zion/planyourvisit/permitsandreservations.htm The campground has pit toilets and trash cans, but no water.
