Here is the water inlet for the turbine house of the Ziegenrück power plant (Conrod power plant) located further down the hall and on the other side of the Conrodberg. The tunnel through the mountain was cut through in 1921 and the power plant, which was operated by Carl-Zeiss Jena, was put into operation in 1922. The level difference from water inlet to water outlet is approx. 17m. The power plant had a total output of 2,500 kW and was able to provide 12 MWh of electrical energy per year. It was decommissioned in early 1960.
