The fundamental decision to build the DAV climbing center was made at the 2003 annual general meeting with the election of a new board of directors under the leadership of chairman Stefan Moser. After examining several possible locations, the city of IN made the operating hall on the former Wienzierl site available to the section. After intensive planning work and funding commitments from the city of Ingolstadt, the BLSV and DAV, the renovation and expansion of the hall began in spring 2015. In the first construction phase, only the sanitary area and the first climbing walls were created.
