Two legends surround the place Kunigundenruh.

Legend has it that Empress Kunigunde once went for a walk with her husband and heard the bells of Bamberg Cathedral - the bell of Kunigunde. Out of envy over the wonderful sound, her husband threw his ring at the distant bell, from which a piece broke out. Since then, their sound has changed.

According to the second legend, the empress let a cloth fly through the winds, which landed exactly at this point.

The Kunigundenruhstein is located in close proximity to the Martern. In the past, the stones allowed the landowners to put down their baskets to avoid having to pick up the heavy baskets on their way to or from the Bamberg market.

The Kunigundenmartern in the main bog forest were built in 1601 and 1676. On the Baroque Marten of 1676 (donated by master baker Hollig from Lohndorf) a Kunigundensage is shown.
