The Menara Siger is a popular land mark on the southern tip of Sumatra. It was inaugurated in 2008. It's supposed to be a symbol for the richness and diversity of the culture of Sumatra, with its many different ethnicities. In reality it's hardly fulfilling that purpose as it's a rather unspectacular building with modest views of the harbour and the southern tip of Sumatra.
