Consonno is a place of fascinating decadence. Victim of a wild building project, in the 60s and 70s that had the aim of creating a "toy city", today Consonno is in a state of abandonment and degradation. Following two landslides (the last occurred in 1976) and the loss of interest by tourists, the place has become a ghost town.

It remains interesting from a landscape point of view. Consonno, at 634 m above sea level, is one of the highest points in the area and, from here, you can clearly observe the path of the Adda river starting from Lake Como, Mount Resegone and all the villages located below the hill itself.

The climb to Consonno is 5.4 km long and reaches beyond the abandoned buildings, near the last barrier that prevents access to motor vehicles.
