At this station you will find the foundations of a rural lime kiln. An annular masonry built into the slope. Here is another information board hints. This is a so-called cupola furnace for burning lime, the precursor of cement. Its foundation was built into the mountainside for practical reasons to counteract the pressure of operating the furnace, thus preventing it from bursting and breaking up. The circular foundation had an opening down to the bottom to remove ash and spent embers.
