The earliest mention of the church in Seekirch can be found in a deed of donation from the year 805 in the Stiftsarchiv St. Gallen. In 1395, the parish of Seekirch was incorporated into the Premonstratensian Imperial Abbey of Marchtal. In the course of the secularization reached in 1803 Seekirch, Alleshausen and Brasenberg together with the dissolved Abbey Marchtal to the house Thurn and Taxis.

"Belangten" is a nice paraphrase for some mess.

The Roman Catholic parish church of the Assumption of Mary is located in Seekirch, a small community in the Biberach district in Baden-Württemberg. The parish belongs to the Biberach deanery of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese. The building is registered as a monument with the State Office for Monument Preservation in Baden-Württemberg.

The interior of the hall church, built in 1616, was converted to Baroque style in 1713. Its nave is covered with a flat ceiling. A two-story, semicircular sacristy is attached to the recessed, three-sided choir in the east. The lower, square floors of the church tower were raised octagonally to accommodate the tower clock and the bell cage, and covered with an onion dome crowned by a lantern.

The frescoes in the interior of the nave are by Franz Martin Kuen, those in the choir by Franz Sigrist. The pulpit was built by Francesco Pozzi. The coronation of Mary was depicted on the altarpiece of the high altar in 1774. Johann Joseph Christian's workshop erected several statues around 1758.
