Magnificent Chinese-style Taoist temple with 2 giant guard lions and 3 main halls. Cheap prices in the temple shop.

    Hiking

The Wen-Wu Temple is the most beautiful temple we visited in Taiwan. It was built in 1938.
Particularly impressive are the huge 6m high lions in front of the temple (the largest in Asia - according to National Geographic Traveler 2013 edition)
The temple has 3 areas: Gods of Literature, War Gods (Main Hall) and Confucius (Hall Above)

    Hiking

Below the Wen Wu Temple lies a staircase with 365 steps leading to the lake.
On the staircase are many small bells bearing signs and wishes.
Each step represents a day of the year and is also decorated with the names of prominent people.
