The marble bridge in Villmar, Hesse is actually a limestone bridge over the Lahn. The bridge is primarily of local importance, but less of a national one. Nevertheless, it is one of the city's landmarks. It was originally built to give residents access to the quarries and the train station without having to take a ferry. To date, little has changed in this fact. In 1985 it was registered as a technical monument and ten years later it was extensively renovated.
