With its area of 21 hectares, the Hundsmoor is the most pristine of the four nature reserves in the Unterallgäu district. The large number of wet biotopes in this nationally significant moor complex were acquired between 1980 and 1982. In addition to the moist and moss-rich flat moor areas, peat moss areas, a wet bush and a wet forest are protected here. This biotope can be found in the valley of the Westliche Günz between Westerheim and Hawangen.
