Kursalon (1st, Johannesgasse 33, Stadtpark), built 1865-1867 by the municipality of Vienna according to plans by Johann Garben in the Italian Renaissance style and opened on May 8, 1867.
The famous "promenade concerts" by Eduard Strauss and many military bands took place here at the time. The event halls have a capacity of 300-600 people. After repair work after the Second World War, the Kursalon was operational again on March 10, 1949 and developed under the tenant Hans Hübner into a coffee house (sponsored by the City of Vienna) with "living" Viennese music (music pavilion).
