The smallest municipality in the province of Padua by area, Battaglia Terme is located between the Euganean Hills and the Po Valley. Crossed by several canals and waterways, Battaglia acquired the suffix "Terme" thanks to the presence of thermal springs with a Royal Decree of 1925.

On the eastern slopes of the Euganean Hills between the confluence of three waterways, the Municipality of Battaglia Terme is situated with its characteristic riviera shape, whose origin, unlike the other Euganean municipalities, has a precise date: 1189, in which the construction of the Battaglia Canal begins. From 1208 the toponym Batalia is attested, as a center of molinatory activity, of paper production and an important way of transporting goods.
