After the end of the Second World War, a delegation from the Allied military government was supposed to create a restricted area along the border. Everyone living there should leave this area. A delegation tried to avert this profound event.
What followed were anxious weeks of waiting and uncertainty. The residents of Klettgau vowed to build a chapel if the expulsion from their homeland did not take place. The expulsion was averted. With the help of our Swiss neighbors, the promise was kept. Two years later, at Pentecost 1947, the Erzinger Bergkapelle with the Stations of the Cross was inaugurated.

A warm and beautifully maintained little chapel with a touching history. The view here is also great.
