An overwhelming view can be enjoyed from the dam down. the madness.
A massive barrier holds and stores the water to the reservoir (Lacul Vidraru) which operates at the origin of a power plant to generate electricity.
This resulted in tourism. Boat trips, fishing, bungee jumps from 166 m altitude are among the leisure activities. Prometheus statue as a symbol of electricity can also be visited there.

Lake Vidraru is a reservoir created in 1965 by the Vidraru Dam in Argeș County, on the Argeș River, for electricity production, irrigation and flood prevention. Also, the lake and adjacent facilities are used for recreation, tourism and sports.
