Werk Verle | Forte Busa Verle is an Austro-Hungarian fort located at an altitude of 1506 meters in the Passo Vezzena – Malga Verle area. A bomb-proof fortified structure, it served to prevent a possible Italian advance from the Val d'Assa on the Vezzena, Cima le Mandrielle, Monte Erio. As a fort, Campo Luserna was subjected to heavy shelling by Italian artillery, but was never conquered.

Mountain biking

It stands on the hill overlooking Passo Vézzena, at an altitude of 1554 m.

In combination with Fort Lusérn, it had the task of controlling the upper head of the Val d'Assa.

It had four armored cupola howitzers, four 6 cm guns and 15 machine gun emplacements.

Known for having hosted the Austrian writer Fritz Weber and the South Tyrolean director Luis Trenker during the conflict, in the summer of 1915 it was subjected to repeated and useless Italian assaults.

The intense bombardment of the big guns brought him close to surrender.
