At 2,308 meters high, the Falkert is one of the most beautiful peaks in the Nock Mountains. At its foot are the Falkertsee and the Heidialm as well as a couple of wonderful huts to stop off as a reward for the mountain tour. There is a steep ascent to the Falkert along the cliff edge, which I managed in 33 minutes. But I recommend the longer tour over the Alm, which can be done comfortably in an hour and a half.

The Falkert is located in the middle of the Nockberge Biosphere Park, a protected area where you want to preserve the natural and valuable habitat for humans and animals and where economy and tradition are still connected in harmony.

After about 1 1/2 hours we arrived at Falkertspitz and were able to admire the characteristic mountains of the Nockberge (in the Gurktal Alps). The pictures show you looking back towards the ascent from the Sonntagstal (view towards St.Oswald / Bad Kleinkirchheim); View over the Sonntagstal and a view towards Schoberriegel (Turracherhöhe) and St.Lorenzen in Reichenau.

Nice view and plenty of space to rest. From the cross you can watch climbers on the via ferrata.
